L4s fought hard but Phoenix emerged the victors

09 November 2019, 16:30, Banbury Road North (Top)

Ladies' 4s 0 - 3 Phoenix & Ranelagh Ladies 1s

Our ladies fourth team arrived at home in the drizzling rain but spirits were high ready for the start of the match. An unfortunate start for us meant two short corners eventually ending in a goal for the opposition, and just a couple minutes later their captain was unfortunately injured and could not continue. Another short corner brought a great save by Annabel Page, but unfortunately this was followed by a second goal for them. The start of the second half brought some hope for us with a great attempt on goal and a short corner, however their defence fended us off and managed to score in the third quarter. Although we didn’t win, we did have a brilliant end to the game, keeping the ball up at their end and having some great attempts on goal.
