Ladies 5s lose to Oxford 4s despite valiant effort

28 September 2019, 10:00, Banbury Road North (Near)

Ladies' 5s 0 - 3 Oxford Ladies 4s

Galvanised by the fact we were merely a squad of 11 we played hard and everyone gave maximum effort. Despite a strong defence Oxford unfortunately managed to score off a short. Not to be dismayed by this we kept a good work rate, with some excellent passing. In the last 10 mins of the first half our energy levels dropped a little. However after half time we picked it up again, trying to bring to the second half our half time talking points: release the ball earlier and shepherd the ball rather than dive. Unfortunatley the second half saw Oxford gain two more goals one from open play where we got caught hanging high and a straight strike from a short. Despite losing, the team remained positive throughout. We will come back stronger next week for it.
