Ladies' 7s lose to Banbury 5s at Bloxham

28 September 2019, 11:15, Bloxham

Ladies' 7s 0 - 4 Banbury Ladies 5s

Ladies' 7s with a squad of 14, who have never played together before, turned up at Bloxham on a sunny day for a lovely game of hockey. We had a strong first half and were unlucky to concede a goal, when there was as misunderstanding with the rotations.

At half time we discussed tactics and keeping possiession and started the second half with a good attitude. The forwards, Poppy in particular and Juliet on the right wing , looked as if they would score but Banbury's defense was too strong. Sophia had a great game, out of position as center mid, as did Alice, who played left mid. Despite a great game from Amelia in goal, we conceded another 3 goals in the second half due our lack of fitness. Sophia and Alice were deservedly joint players of the match.

Thank to Jane Holmes for managing the side. It was much appreciated.
