Ladies 2's get back to winning ways

Ladies' 2s 1 - 0 Henley Ladies 1s
The ladies 2s second friendly in three days was against local league rivals Henley. The game started at a rather frantic pace with Henley having quite a lot of the opening possession, but the 2s stayed strong and some excellent defending all round kept them out. Hawks rallied and started to have more of the possession and create chances of their own but were unable to convert. A fantastic save on the line by Laura not long before half time meant that the score stayed even going into the break.
Some wise words from Emily at half time to go back to doing the basics well, meant Hawks came out the stronger of the two teams and enjoyed the majority of the possession at the start of the second half. Some good work by the defenders gave Hawks a break down the left hand side which resulted in Rosie slapping the ball into the D. Unfortunately for Henley the ball took a number of deflections on its way in, one of which went between the goalkeepers legs and just before it trickled off the back line Claire was there to tap the ball in at the back post. 1-0 to Hawks.
With time running out, Hawks absorbed a barrage of attacks from Henley but again a fantastic team effort kept them out and they held on for the win.
