With an early star for our snow delayed match, our opposition attacked right from the whistle. They looked strong and composed as it took time for us to settle into our normal play. We held our nerve in defence and prevented any Wallingford attacks that could threaten our hope of a win. With a strong team play from the back to the attack, we won a short corner. After all our practice on Thursday nights, it finally paid off with a superb strike from Rosie across the D to score; 1-0. Wallingford came back fighting but were no match for our Hawks side who were in their element; younger players Tiggy and Alice fighting hard in the middle, and Alice shining through to score a scrappy but wonderful second goal; 2-0. As we were looking strong throughout the pitch, a third goal was on the cards. Lovely play from Lucy to Helen saw a slap across the D, shot on goal, and deflection in by Helen; 3-0.
