L4s earn a much needed point v Thame 1s

09 March 2019, 10:30, Banbury Road North (Near)

Ladies' 4s 1 - 1 Thame Ladies 1s

This weekend the Ladies 4s came away with a 1-1 draw against Thames Ladies 1s. Despite the rain and even hail which interrupted our warm-up we kicked off the game strong in defence; Becky, Bethan and Emma making some excellent tackles against Thame’s strong counter attack, and our forwards nearly scoring some goals against Thame too.  By the end of the first half the score was 0-0.

We started the second half with much higher energy levels and team spirit, remaining persistent in attack- winning lots of short corners and defending Thames’s quick counterattacks. Our moment came when the ball was passed right out from the back and up the pitch to Mimi, who then slipped it to Caz at the top of the D, who slapped it into the bottom left corner! Thame was ready to go and hungry to score the equalising goal which they eventually won after breaking away and striking from the top of the D.

Well done to everyone, especially Caz for her amazing goal which won her MOM!
