We arrived at Bisham Abbey at mid morning ready to face Marlow ladies 3s for the second time this season. We started the match quite panicked as Marlow were quick to pressurise us, winning themselves a short corner, however nothing was won out of this. We then settled and soon started making great passes up the pitch. Bizza made several good runs down the line and almost won us a goal when she hit the ball across the D to the post but it was narrowly missed by our forwards. Working well down the line, forwards and inners made good connections up the pitch. We were unfortunate not to win ourselves a short corner as some fouls were not spotted. However, Marlow were fast on the counter attack and unfortunately scored twice towards the end of the first half. By half time Marlow were ahead 2-0.
Marlow started the second half strong and put away another goal. Despite this we continued to get the ball up the pitch and put Marlow under pressure when we were in their D. Gemma hit a great ball down the line to Rebecca who passed to Holly on the P spot and we won a short corner. Bethan scored a drag flick from the corner. Yay! Towards the end we started forcing the ball down the line in a panic, aiming to catch up with Marlow’s 3 goals. In the end we lost 3-1; however, I think we all agreed that it was a positive match and that the score does not reflect our performance.
