Ladies' 1s lose to ISCA in tough game

Ladies' 1s 0 - 3 Isca Ladies 1s
Oxford Hawks Ladies 1s made the journey down to Exeter for their rearranged game against Isca keen for three points after a particularly challenging week. It was a tentative first half with neither side stringing together many good passages of play, and Isca took the lead from the rebound on a penalty corner. Ten minutes later Isca doubled their lead when they struck again from a disputed penalty corner.
The second half was a completely different game with some smart tactical changes from Hawks resulting in much more dominance and possession, and a spirited display, but they were unable to convert their chances. Row Hearn was on outstanding form throughout thoroughly deserving her player of the match award. With less than a minute to go as Hawks pushed everything forwards Isca struck on the break to make the scoreline somewhat unflattering, but Hawks can reflect on a much improved second half performance as they prepare for their game next weekend.
Thanks to Vicki Hearn for the photos.
