Ladies 3s avoid the rain and put 4 goals past A&C L2s

10 November 2018, 10:30, Banbury Road North (Near)

Ladies' 3s 4 - 0 Amersham & Chalfont Ladies 2s

The day started off well, Becca knew who the opposition were, a first for the year and the under layers were slowly coming off before the first whistle. An intense first half, the forwards worked hard in the D but the goal posts weren’t being very forgiving. Who knew you could hit the goal post that many times?! 1-0 to Hawks by half time.

Pressure was on after half-time, Tom’s half time talk rallied the troops to deliver a strong second half. Lizzie was solid in the midfield, transferring the ball wide to attack.Textbook hockey followed, resulting in flawless play between the mids and the forwards as they played it wide to the left and hit the baseline, with a cross to the penalty spot where Mary D was waiting to finish the job. Open play led to 2 more goals in the back of the net from Frankie B and Emma S. The defence’s patience improved in the second half, maintaining possession against a pressuring opposition, resulting in a 4-0 win.

Special mention for Fi who was so excited for the win that she left her hockey stick and bag on the side of the pitch. Great timing to end as the rain came in thrashing in!

Mom went to Emma S for great work rate and skills up front. DOD went to Megan Hope - “Keep walking” - not sure Tom would agree with that one?
