Ladies' 7s lose to Sonning

Ladies' 7s 0 - 3 Sonning Ladies 5s
On a drizzly day Ladies’ 7s had a slow start which let Sonning score in the first 30 seconds. We began to get our act together, applying lots of pressure. In spite of the best efforts of Lizzie, Becky and Rosie we didn’t manage to convert our opportunities into goals. Unfortunately, one of our star youngsters, Emily, was struck in the ankle by an opposing player within the first 10 minutes. Sadly, she spent the rest of the game on the side line. Yasmin nobly stepped up to be centre-mid and did a really good job of theat.
We can out firmly in the second half but still did not manage to score. When they attacked Sonning were quite dangerous, but Iona, in goal, kept them out. Sonning had a beautifully struck corner deflected in by the injector. Within a few minutes of that, Sonning scored another goal again from a short corner. So, the final score was 3-0 to Sonning.
Lizzie and Rosie had excellent games as forwards keeping the ball on the attack throughout a large portion of the match. They were both voted player of the match. For fantasy league there has to be just one nominated player, so Deborah put her casting vote in favour of Rosie.
