U12 Girls beat Oxford in local derby

11 November 2018

U12 Girls 2 - 1 Oxford U12 Girls B

A dominant Hawks side created many scoring opportunities early on but struggled to convert into goals. Hawks continued to mount pressure through the midfield with confident play from Katie and the stalemate was broken by a purposeful run from Alina being rewarded by a calmly executed goal from a very tight angle! However, despite the ever reliable Teddy in goal co-ordinating the Hawks defensive rotations of Sofia, Calla, Lucille and Aimee. Oxford capatalised on Hawks enthusiasm to throw everything forward, unfortunately this led to an overload when Hawks lost the ball up front. Despite this disappointment Hawks persisted with determination. Excellent pressure and movement upfront from Bea, Evie and Honor, created space for Sofia to join the attack and score.

The game ended after a frantic spell that could have seen goals go in for either side but Hawks eventually taking the 3 points. Much to the relief of coaches
