Ladies' 1s 1 - 1 Reading Ladies 1s
Oxford Hawks welcomed Reading HC to BRN on Saturday. Both teams looking to turn a run of draws into a win and some points for the league. The game started with a high tempo with end to end attacking play. Hawks made the first move with an excellent string of passes with Becca changing the channel nicely to find Henri who was fouled resulting in a short corner. A straight strike produced a high rebound which Odders pounced on to give a 1-0 lead. Reading came back with some counter attacking hockey and several short corners later round the back of a net from a left deflection. The pressure continued from Reading but both teams went into half time level.
The second half saw some good play from Hawks down the right hand side with Row finding space to play in, and Henri again gaining a short corner. This time however the Reading defence held firm. A series of short corners were conceded by Hawks at the other end as the game drew to a close. Some excellent defending by goalkeeper Jess, and goal saving clearances from man of the match Caro produced resilient defending from Hawks. The final score ending 1-1.
