Oxford Hawks U18 Girls travelled to Marlow for the first round of the cup. Hawks were expecting a strong opposition although maybe not expecting GB International Hollie Pearne-Webb on the side of the pitch as part of the Marlow coaching team! In a well contested, high quality game, Hawks had the better of the first half and goals from Rowena Hearn and Maddy Dale saw them take a 2-0 lead into half time.
Sam Clark posed one or two specific challenges to the Hawks team at half time and Hawks went on to control the second half. The team were disciplined throughout the game and contained the threat from Marlow’s fast and skilful forwards. A further goal from Maddy Dale and a pretty special goal - I believe it may be called a 'worldy' - from Siena Robbins in the dying seconds gave Hawks a 4-0 win! A very strong performance from the team - well done! Many thanks to Paul Scragg for umpiring and to Vicki Hearn for the photos.
