U12 Girls beat Bicester brilliantly
21 October 2018, 11:00, Banbury Road North (Near)
U12 Girls 11 - 0 Bicester U12 Girls
Hawks U12 girls kick started their league season with a clinical display against a half-term depleted Bicester. Hawks benefited from a squad of 10, although for many this was their first experience representing their club in a league game. The atmosphere in the changing rooms was one of trepidation and excitement.
After a focused warm up, the game started briskly and it wasn’t long until Hawks started to assert their dominance, and Alina produced a very nicely executed shot, which found the back of the oppositions net, to put Hawks one up.
Defensively Hawks looked tight, Katie with captain responsibilities, closed down and didn’t allow Bicester to use their main playmaker as much as they would have liked. Mellissa showed great discipline (with direction from Lottie in goal) with her tight marking, allowing Millie through the middle to distribute to the midfield. Tireless pressure applied to Bicester’s defence from Bea and Lexi allowed Hawks midfielders Zoe, Izzy and Lucille to capitalise, leading to more goals.
Thanks to Paul Scragg for umpiring, Jan Roche for her match teas and Bicester
