Saturday's match was the eagerly awaited top of the table clash with Reading Rebels. After a tense start to the game Lili opened up the scoring following up from Polly’s shot from a short corner after 25 minutes.
We certainly had more possession and put pressure on the Reading defence but were unable to convert a number of chances. The Reading keeper was forced to make a number of good saves to keep them in the game.
Against the run of play Reading equalised but it wasn’t long before Pip ran almost half the length of the pitch with the ball before passing to Lili, setting up Polly for her first.
Polly found the back of the net again with a clinical finish on the break having received a perfectly timed ball down the centre.
Going in to half time we certainly had the psychological advantage being 3-1 up.
Reading started strong with Purdy making a great save early in the second half. We continued to pile on the pressure with Lili scoring her second of the match. Despite a slowing tempo to the game, another great pass from Jacs set Polly up for her hat trick taking the score to 5-1.
A great passage of play created the opportunity for Harri to score a well worked goal.
Disappointingly, Reading scored in the last minute making the final score 6-2.
Many thanks to Evelyn Hargraves for the excellent photos.
