Tight like a Tiger for the Ladies 2s against Buckingham 2s

06 October 2018, 12:00, Banbury Road North (Near)

Ladies' 2s 3 - 1 Buckingham Ladies 2s

Hawks Ladies 2 took to a rain swept BRN to face Buckingham 2s in the 3rd league of the season. Buckingham attempted to start the game with 12 players, not a bad tactic. Hawks started the game well, passing at a good tempo around the back and opening up space to allow some great attacks on the Buckingham goal. The first goal arrived from one such attack with Abbie driving through the middle of the park, and providing a great cross for a trademark finish from Tiny. Sadly from there, Hawks failed to capitalise on their possession, frequently turning the ball over and allowing Buckingham to break. Their long ball tactics created some good chances, however man of the match Emily Munsey was on fine form in goal, to deny the equaliser.

Half time came, with some wise words from Tom and Kara, and Hawks went out for the second half determined to build some momentum. High aggressive pressing from the frontline presented Lexi with a great turnover opportunity just inside the 23. Calmly holding off two defenders she slipped the ball past the on rushing keeper. With a 2 goal cushion, Hawks should have settled into the game. However a rather scrappy 10mins followed allowing Buckingham to get one goal back. Hawks regrouped and started to find space again and put together some more flowing attacks. A great passage of play found Frankie in the D who, following a quick bit of skill to create space, dispatched the ball for the third goal. From there Hawks saw out the game for a welcome 3 points.
