A strong Hawks performance saw Slough defeated 4-0

29 September 2018, 10:30, Banbury Road North (Near)

Ladies' 3s 4 - 0 Slough Ladies 2s

Another early start for the Ladies 3s; we started strongly showing confidence and technique with great play linking from the back all the way up through to the forwards, pivoting through the middle and using our wider channels effectively to consistently attack Slough. Soon our persistence paid off and we managed to penetrate the D securing a short corner, with this a strike from Lizzie saw the first goal. Continuing the game with strong communication and passing with a solid transfer round the back, another wave of pressure saw a second goal, this time from Gabs after navigating a crowded attacking D. 2-0 Hawks.

Strongly pushing forward with a ball from Rosie through the middle after receiving it from the back, Lizzie managed to secure another goal as then entire team moved the ball out from the back as a unit, bypassing Slough players with quick 1-2s and creating space for each other.
We continued on, forcing players out wide and keeping a tight mark on their central crucial players. Attacking again there was an opportunity for another short corner which came out into a second phase, was crossed into the D strongly by Lucy B and dinked in on the post by Gabs.

We held our own throughout and were strong on the ball, coming forward in 50/50s and stepping in front with our continuous communication and a strong defensive transfer. All in all a good, positive match for Oxford Hawks Ladies 3s and a lovely 4-0 win as a team.
