The score does not reflect how hard every player worked. As soon as Deborah told us we only had ten players as two players dropped out due to illness, we knew it would be tough. Unfortunately Sonning scored in the first few minutes and their subsequent goals came thick and fast. However, Sophie who is new to goal keeping and learning fast did lots of good saves including saving a penalty flick!. Sonning had several short corners and Hannah did a really good job running 1 and getting to the ball quickly. Many goals were prevented on the line by determination and persistence by our defence. Kat pulled a muscle and came off just before half time so more pressure was put onto Hawks.

Despite only having nine players the second half was better: more possession and more activity in attack. Abi did so well as the lone forward and deserved her goal in the first half. It was good to see Charlotte who had her first Ladies' game last week come on in confidence. And a great debut by Lottie another Junior player. Well done to everyone for putting in such effort and playing right up to the final whistle. Player of the match was awarded jointly to Lizzie and Hannah.
