Ladies 5s tough out a draw in tight game against Buckingham
10 March 2018, 11:30, Banbury Road North (Top)
Ladies' 5s 1 - 1 Buckingham Ladies 3s
Where would we be without WhatApp?
The day started with well wishes from Phil who was off to warmer weather and a very excited Susan as we were actually going to play hockey and not dream about it or consider switching codes to curling.
Then the requests for large shirts to be kept for those umpiring the 6's. Game time came closer and Susan's eagerness was being hampered by traffic.
And now to the game - Bucks got the first goal as they weaved in and out. It was a much faster game than our previous one in January (where we went down 2-1, but the match report rivals all others and is a worthy read and I claim not to be that creative!).
We held our own with everyone working hard. Reward came with a beautiful sweep into goal by Sherene at a PC and despite opportunities for both teams that is how the game finished 1-1.
Phil appeared again (thanks WhatsApp) searching for the result and replied "a point won is better than 3 lost!! Well done team!"
Thanks to our supporters - and again WhatsApp for delivering messages from Lotty and Buffy post game!
Tiggy was named MOM as she played an outstanding game in the half line tackling, passing and driving the ball up the field. Well deserved.
