Hawks L3 unable to convert and have to settle on 1-1 draw

14 October 2017, 13:30

Ladies' 3s 1 - 1 Sonning Ladies 2s

From the first whistle, Hawks demonstrated some excellent 1-2-1 hockey, and really worked the height and width of the pitch, making quick breaks, and leaving Sonning on the back foot. Increasing pressure and pressing from Sonning, however, lead to a number of unforced errors from Hawks, and it quickly escalated into a flustered and frantic game for both teams. Sonning were first to score, but but Hawks kept their heads high and following a calculated cross from Lizzie, Laura M was able to deflect the ball nicely into the back of the goal. The score was 1-1 at half time.

The second half continued with end-to-end hockey, but neither team could secure the full 3 points.
