Ladies' 7s lose at home to a stronger Buckingham
17 February 2018, 10:30, Banbury Road North (Near)
Ladies' 7s 2 - 5 Buckingham Ladies' 4s
An unlucky loss for Hawks 7s against a young Buckingham side. Starting well Hawks put pressure on the Buckingham defence resulting in a strong cross from Sharon finished by Claire. Unfortunately Hawks couldn’t continue the pressure and the defence had to work hard, however, by half time it was 2-1 to Buckingham.
The second half started well with equal possession from both sides. A strong hit from Buckingham saw Indya take a ball to the ankle. 2 more goals from Buckingham didn’t show the strength of Hawks play. However, Hawks were rewarded with a textbook short corner, finished perfectly by Gemma. With Buckingham increasing the pressure, Hawks defence worked hard but couldn’t stop the Buckingham attacking from scoring a final goal. 5-2 the final score, with plenty for Hawks to work on.
Great first game for Naomi, with Jo getting Man of the Match. Good games generally for the defence, particularly Indya.
