Ladies' 7s lost 0-2 in tough game against top of the table Slough

10 February 2018, 15:30, Slough HC

Ladies' 7s 0 - 2 Slough Ladies 3s

We arrived at the pitch to very wet and windy conditions and there was a feeling amongst the team that this would be a tough game against Slough.

After a good warm-up we felt prepared to work hard! Everyone fought hard to keep the ball away from goals and there was quite a bit of running up and down the pitch with our forwards also working hard to get it into the D.  Defence was strong on the opposing side but we remained focused and the first half felt quite positive as Slough had not scored.

The second half saw two goals scored by Slough, unfortunately, one scored by a short corner.  It was a largely defensive second half and our defence showed great determination to keep the ball out of the goal! Special mention goes to Millie in goal (Man of the match) – without her outstanding efforts  there may have been quite a few more goals scored! Great effort was also shown by Emma G, Gill, Abi, Deborah, Indya and all of the defensive side in this second half.

Match teas were welcomed and there was excitement for the next match where hopefully we will get some goals!
