A strong L4s performance wasn't enough to stop Reading Rockets

Ladies' 4s 2 - 5 Reading Reading Rockets

We arrived in high spirits after last week’s success although we knew we were up against a tough team. Reading turned up eager to win.
At the beginning of the first half, both sides were working hard to keep possession. The match was intense and both Hawks and Reading had opportunities to score. Towards the end of the first half, Reading made use of their chances at goal and managed to get 3 goals before half time.
We began the second half by putting lots of pressure on the opposition which resulted in them making more mistakes. One of these mistakes resulted in a rebound off the keeper. Sue was quick to the ball and she got a superb strike off which successfully went into the net of the goal! Despite our hard work at getting the ball up the pitch and pressurising their attackers, Reading scored twice more with one excellent strike from their forwards. Nevertheless, our heads didn’t drop. We were making great passes wide and making our way around their players.
Towards the end of the match Lucy played an excellent ball down the line to Zoe who then drove down the base line and pushed to ball into the corner of the goal! We didn’t conceive any more goals thanks to some super defending. Especially Claire who can out with man of the match!
The Ladies 4s played amazingly well and the result doesn’t reflect how close it was.
