The Falcons still without their leading goal scorer, Bear Smith, made hard work of putting away the resolute and useful Epsom side by the odd goal in 5 in the 2nd billed match at BRN. The top of the bill Men's 1s winning 8 - 2 against the Dark Blues was always going to be a hard act to follow! The game started with the Falcons on the front foot and quite a few chances were spurned before Russell Warner crashed a short corner into the bottom left of the visitors' goal. Jonny Atkins missed a good chance when pulling his shot wide before Andy Bishop scored from close range. The score was 2 nil at half time with Falcons seemingly comfortably in charge,
The second half was again very similar in terms of the Falcons dominating possession and Epsom's only real threat was from the redoubtable Carlos, who like Steve Jones wallet, was staying firmly the full back's pocket. Andy Bishop added a 3rd and it looked as if the game was over but Epsom rolled up their sleeves and scored 2 quick goals past the bemused Richard Wilsdon in the Hawks goal.
The Falcons kept their composure and also kept the ball to make sure there was no chance of an equalizer and held on to win the game.
Many thanks to Hugh for umpiring and MOM was awarded to Andy Bishop.
