The spare slip date had a distinct Christmassy feel about it. On Jack’s list was a goal, big Dave wanted 3 points and Luke wanted a new hair dryer. All of these requests were delivered by Santa. Especially Luke’s, who’s bonce was typically well groomed.
Hawks dominated the game game from start to finish. Passing was confident and accurate. James R and James E pulled the strings like two wise men. Luke and Jack combined up front like Mary and Joseph. James E got the opener; a calm finish following nice play between himself, the other James and Chris. Jack soon after got his delivery from Santa; an expertly bobbled finish under the keepers foot. Chris got his first of the game, classic far post deflection from a lovely weighted pass from James R.
At half time Dave reiterated that his wish to Santa, and not give the game away. Dave’s disciples answered his prayers. The game became a little more tight, but Chris’ diving deflection from Luke’s probing pass filled the stockings and hung them up by the open fire. Well played.
