Success for Ladies 7s at Slough

13 January 2018, 10:00

Ladies' 7s 5 - 1 Iver and Burnham Ladies 1s

Meeting at 8:30 for a 10 o’clock start is always a daunting prospect, but the Ladies’ 7s were more than ready. We welcomed 3 new players: Harriet, Lili and Emma. The match started excellently - with Alessia scoring the first goal (set up by Harriet) in a matter of minutes, and soon following up with a second. Harriet and Lilly also scored one each in the first half, with Gill saving one goal but then unable to stop a particularly good strike just before halftime.

Fortunately, our strong start played to our advantage and we were able to keep their attack at bay at the start of the second half. We continued to pressurise their defence as well, putting up a strong front with Harriet scoring her second goal - bringing the total to an impressive lead of 5-1. earning her a well-deserved Man of the Match. The new players all performed incredibly well, with Emma proving reading the game well and determined to win the ball at all times, and the twins Harriet and Lili both gaining votes for Man of the Match. Congratulations to the entire team on a well-deserved win, and Harriet especially for her outstanding effort up front.

Sorry no photos this week - we were too busy playing!
