Having missed out on a game due to the frost last weekend, the ladies 5s were raring to go. The later than usual push back time seemed to suit them and they were looking sharp from the off, something they've struggled with this season. All of the early pressure was from Hawks and this paid off when Lotty took a quick free hit from the side line, finding Sherene in the D who, of course, scored! 1-0 up and Hawks continued to dominate possession, with the A and C keeper making some great saves to deny us any further goals. Mid-way through the first half, Hawks started to give the ball away unnecessarily and this unfortunately resulted in an equaliser. 1-1 at half-time.
As has become habit this season, the second half performance was much better than the first. Within the first 5 minutes, another assist by Lotty ended in a goal by Jade, and from then on Hawks never looked back. There was some excellent linking play from defence through midfield and to the forwards. The 3rd goal game from an excellent pass in the D from Sherene to Sophie M who put away the rebound from her first shot at goal. The fourth goal game quickly, this time put away by Pip.
Final score 4-1, an excellent result putting Hawks in an even stronger second place position in this very tight league. MOM went to Lotty for her tireless work and 2 outstanding assists.
Thanks to Buffy and little Harry for coming to support.
