Ladies' 6s make it a draw with moments to go.

Ladies' 6s 2 - 2 Wychwood Ladies 1s
The Ladies 6s put up a brave fight against the fierce Wychwood Badgers who played a well-organised, strong game of hockey. Our most effective weapon against them proved to be our pace, and we worked hard to outrun the opposition. Despite even possession, goals didn't come easily. After 15 minutes the Badgers struck out and although Purdy's lightening reactions kept them at bay, Hawks were outnumbered at the back and the ball slipped though a patchy defence.
The team talk at half time was spirited: we had to go back out and use the transfers we practised at Tuesday training; take early shots in the D and keep an eye on those tricky forwards when forming the press.
An early short corner rebound in the second half saw a superb strike from Kizzie; her first goal for the Club! With a lot of attacking play from Hawks, the defence were playing too high and a second Badgers goal was scuffed in from a breakaway ball down the centre. Despite increasing pressure, Purdy's courageous goal-keeping kept the draw within reach, and, with moments to go before the final whistle, Jess A's sensational strike from the top of the D clattered through the defence to end the match with a respectable draw.
Final score - 2:2
MOM - Kizzie (Kathryn Mercer)
