U16A's close game with strong Surbiton side

12 November 2017

U16 Girls A 0 - 2 Surbiton U16 Girls Prem

The Girls U16A team were looking forward to a competitive game against Surbiton and that is exactly what they got. From the first push back, Surbiton were using their speed and skill to get into Hawks D but the Hawks defence of Jess, Lara, Tiggy and Amelia were up to the challenge and the score remained 0-0.

Hawks did some good attacking of their own as well with Lexi, Holly, Georgie, Jade, Maddie, Alice and Gem getting fully involved but the Surbiton GK made a number of good saves as well. At half time, it was still 0-0 but with 15 minutes to go Surbiton converted one of their attacking opportunities and shortly followed up again.

Man of the match went to Cora who had an outstanding game today and saved so many attempts from Surbiton. It was another good team performance from the U16A's and they all worked tirelessly until the final whistle, working well together to prevent another Surbiton attacking corner from being converted.
