Ladies' 7s dominate the game but cannot score

Ladies' 7s 0 - 1 Abingdon Pilgrims
Ladies' 7s knew they were in for a tough battle with the Abingdon Pilgrims, who due to the L7's previous week's draw with Slough 3's pushed the Pilgrims up to the top of the division.
We went in with full gusto but Abingdon scored a quick goal in the first 8 minutes.
We fought back hard and despite most of the play being in their half we couldn't score.
Half time came and we had a good team talk, with Jo suggesting using the width and passing back.
We went back on and put these into practice with the team fully determined to battle it out and score.
They started to raise the ball and unfortunately we had two minor casualties when a couple of high flying balls hit both Gemma and Pam, but they soldiered on and carried on play.
3 short corners were taken but we couldn't convert these to goals.
Final Score 0-1
Player of the match went to Bella Dawes for her consistently great play throughout the match.
Thanks to Kara Kerr and Linda Billington for umpiring and for their great tips and suggestions for our next game.
