U16 Girls A 2 - 2 Clifton Robinsons U16 Girls
Today was the 2nd round of the England U16 Girls Championship and this time Oxford Hawks U16A's were playing against Clifton Robinsons.
The opposition started positively but GK, Cora and the Hawks defence were up to the challenge and the score remained 0-0. Clifton Robinsons broke the deadlock fairly early on but this just encouraged Hawks to up their game and get the equaliser. Captain and man of the match, Jessica Madden-Waite took this task seriously and dribbled her way past pretty much every player on the pitch, calmly slotting the ball on her reverse into the bottom corner.
With the score at 1-1 at half time, Hawks were feeling inspired and played some really nice passing hockey to create further opportunities in the opposition D however the GK made a number of good saves to keep the score at 1-1.
Clifton Robinsons scored the next goal but Hawks continued to work really hard over the pitch and Row Hearn stepped up to score a wee deflection after some great play down the right hand side from Emma Stephenson.
Hawks were awarded a penalty corner on the final whistle but were unlucky not to convert it, therefore the score remained 2-2.
