Ladies' 7s have a great win at Amersham
14 October 2017, 10:00, Amersham & Wycombe College
Ladies' 7s 4 - 1 Amersham & Chalfont Ladies 6s
We had an amazing match on Saturday (14th) against Amersham, which we won 4-1. It was a great game for Wendy Sobey who scored the first goal of the game only 15 mins in. It was soon followed by another great goal from Amersham minutes after. Then Hughes did an aerial to Sobey who put it in the back of the net. (No, this is not a Falcons match report!) It was Pam Hughes who passes to Wendy Sobey who scored the second goal, the score was now 2-1 to us.
We had a tough half hour ahead of us, where the ball would pass from one team to another until Victoria Phillips made a sprint for the D and scored the third goal for Oxford Hawks. This was soon followed by a really well worked goal from Lizzie. We were now leading by 4-1, and a short corner almost brought it up to 5-1 but the ball, that would have counted as a beautiful reverse stick hit, frustratingly, was hit centimetres outside the D by Lizzie. Overall a very strong game that we won comfortably. Everyone played really well.
