Ladies 1s struggle to perform at Gloucester

07 October 2017, 12:00

Ladies' 1s 1 - 2 Gloucester City Ladies 1s

This week for their third fixture of the season Hawks travelled away to play Gloucester. Hawks started well putting lots of pressure onto the Gloucester defence. This positive start paid off with Lucy Stewart winning a short corner which was converted by Reaney after good work by Annie Denly. However Hawks stepped off the gas and allowed Gloucester back into the game. Towards the end of the first half Gloucester scored an equalising goal from open play making the score 1-1 going into half time. The second half saw Gloucester scoring a frustrating goal from a short corner and Hawks were unable to create any serious threat on the home goal. Despite the best efforts from the team in the closing minutes of the game, Hawks were unable to equalise and came away with a 2-1 defeat.
