West Hampstead recently relegated from Division One were worthy winners of a keenly fought contest, which was well umpired. Both Luke Piper and Harrison Fuller scored with fine strikes on the break and kept us in the game after a couple of defensive mistakes, one horrendous, by the skipper and author - apologies. The West Hampstead left back could sling the ball at a trajectory and speed rarely seen in this division, one of which resulted in a goal, superbly deflected in from the top of the D int the top of the corner. We then gave Harrison the job of man marking him when they were outletting, and this reduced their options a little. It seemed to take the opposition a while to work out that he was possibly their best option from a short corner and he popped up in the last ten minutes to provide another assist to a deflected goal into the top corner, to make the score 4-2. At times we played some good hockey, and Cameron had an outstanding game in the middle of the park.
The North Circular is not the prettiest cultural highlight of the UK, however our intrepid Aussie was found taking photos and comparing it to the Cotswolds. We then spent most of the journey on the way back sitting on it, via Brent Cross.
Bring on next week, and hopefully the return of Jasper to BRN?
