Falcons beat Old Rivals Bulls in tight contest

23 September 2017, 14:30, Banbury Road North (Top)

Falcons 3 - 1 Oxford Bulls

The Bulls were a mixture of the former Bulls and some youngsters and this made for a good challenge for the Falcons as a warm up for the league next week.

The Falcons controlled the first half whilst Phil Dunnill was playing and Bear Smith missed some good chances to open the scoring. The Bulls looked dangerous on the break and Richard Wilsdon had to be at his best to keep his goal intact. AMH in a reverse cameo missed a guilt edged chance to give the Bulls the lead just before half time.

The second half slowed in pace surprisingly and Bear, after resting after his channel running in first half, came back on and helped himself to 2 goals neatly taken; totally out of context of the game. Rob Lawrence, what can I say, missed a great chance to pull a goal back before the lad on the left actually did. Ian Sobey made the game safe with a well taken goal and 3 - 1 was the final score.

Thanks to Jan for great teas and to both umpires Hugh and Rosie for putting up with GOM.

MOM - Richard Wilsdon
