With several Hawks players having to adjust quickly to new positions for them, it took a good ten minutes for the players to find their feet and sticks, with Bicester scoring a goal in that time which came from nowhere and Hawks players we puzzled by the goal being allowed as it didn’t appear to be hit by a Bicester player, although the umpire assured Hawks it skimmed off a Bicester players stick. Hawks came fighting back with Mopsy and Clare setting up Hawks first goal by Bella. With some great skill work by Izzy, Jess and Alice keeping Bicester on their toes.

Great defending in the first half by Wendy, Deborah, Annabel and Indya preventing any further goals from Bicester with outstanding footwork from our goalie Amelia who was working hard. Bella taking on a few injuries and showing off her ballet skills with some great controlled turning with the stick and ball.

The halt time team talk comprised of wise words from Deborah, Wendy, Clare and a demonstration of tactics using Bella’s water bottle.

The second Half Hawks dominated the game keeping the Bicester goalie occupied practising her defending skills, with Mopsy, Bella, Pippa, Jess and Izzie setting up many opportunities for a goal chances.

The second goal came from Mopsy after Bella produced a great cross.

With 3 minutes left to go Bicester found a way through Hawks strong defence, despite Gill ‘bothering’ them and Indya with some strong defence backed up by Annabel.

Leaving us with a score of 2-2

Many Thanks to Deborah for all her hard work and dedication to the team this season.
