Hawks started slowly in warm conditions at Eastcote and soon found themselves 2-1 down. The Hawks goal was a flowing move involving James Edmiston and Ray Prince, with the latter driving into the D and his shot was deflected neatly by Ollie Graham leaving the keeper with no chance to recover.
Hawks then began to assert themselves on the game with a solid platform at the back. With Johnny Fox looking assured in goal and Toby Maclachlan providing the distribution as Dan Evans, Tom Murray and Charlie Warner closed the channels.
Ray Prince then stepped up to again produce a Man of the Match Performance and net a brace of goals. Both involved links wilt Phil Barnet and Ed Wilkinson, but in both cases thee was still work to do as he drove the ball into the 25 and the danger zone. As 3D skills created the gaps he finished both goals superbly and also worked a move for Phil Barnet to make it 4-2.
Ed Wilkinson was then unlucky not to further increase the lead as Laurie Cooke found space in the right channel and the Eastcote keeper was forced into action by the hard working Wilkinson.
Eastcote the pressed to recover from the deficit and a well taken goal made it 4-3 and a nervy last period saw Hawks survive several penalty corners and hang on for the win.
The semi finals await on finals day on the 30th April at Guildford and the team should be proud of their performance.
