Ladies's draw with at Wallingford

11 March 2017, 10:00, Banbury Road North (Top)

Ladies' 3s 1 - 1 Wallingford Ladies 1s

After a worrying start with no balls or face masks (again very sorry!!) Hawks quickly conceded a short corner. However, the defense set the tone for the match and kept the ball out the goal with some great saves from Linda. For the rest of the first half Hawks continued to attack well whilst putting alot of pressure on the Wallingford defence. With the forwards doing a lot of running and a solid press instructed by Katie Merrick, Wallingford couldn't get the ball up the pitch. Soon after the first goal game from Meg Minton who fired it into the back of the goal from a lovely long ball in from Katie who worked well with Emma to get it down the pitch. 1-0.

After half time Wallingford came out strong making us work even harder. They had a lot of possession but our defence kept strong and made good clearances creating alot of chances to break. In the last 10 minutes Wallingford scored from a short corner.  1-1. This made us even more determined to score but unfortunately we couldn't quite convert.
