Ladies' 7s 1 - 2 Iver and Burnham Ladies 1s
Hawks made an aggressive start and their hard work was soon rewarded with a fantastic goal scored by Mel. The kept the intensity up with another fabulous goal attempt by Mel which was sadly disallowed. However, in the next few minutes when a shot on goal was stopped by one of their feet, we were awarded with a penalty flick. Olivia bravely stepped up have never taken a flick before. It was a good shot but their keeper managed to save it. At the end of the first half the opposition levelled the score from a short corner. It was 1-1.
In the second half, the opposition came out much more strongly. They scored another goal at a short corner. Sadly, we were unable to come back from this and the match ended 2-1 to the opposition. The whole team played amazing hockey. Jo Sears was voted player of the match after an exceptional game as centre half where she never seemed to stop running and was always where she was needed.
