Falcons hit double hat tricks as Winchester are beaten 7 nil

11 March 2017, 16:30, Banbury Road North (Near)

Falcons 7 - 0 Winchester Wanderers

The Falcons conscious of being two goals down against Winchester in the first 10 minutes started on the front foot in the return fixture. After forcing some short corners early doors a quick break by Simon Dawson took him clear of the visitors defence, his square ball left Richard Venables with the easy task in slotting the ball into an empty net. Further goals by Venables and Phil Dunnill made the score 3 nil at half time. Jim Felix was virtually a spectator for most of the half.

The Falcons added more goals in the second half as players took rests and everyone got involved - Venables got a hat trick and Dunnill smashed two short corners to bely his role as 3rd choice corner taker and also completed a deserved hat trick and man of the match winner. Dave Hughes scored late on after good work from Chris Hutton. Jim Felix kept a clean sheet somehow and many thanks to Rosie for umpiring again and putting up with all the grumpy old men!
