Hawks 7ths approached the game with some confidence and looked to re-produce their post Christmas form and determined to make amends after the previous week. They quickly took the game to the opposition and pressed high but lacking the killer pass to open the gaps. Robust defence and a break down in cohesion in the opposition 25 failed to convert the possession into goals.
Guy Biggs broke the dead lock with a well taken goal. If Hawks were to take all 3 points from the superior possession it needed an elusive second goal.
The defence was looking solid and Dan Evans continued to press down the right but as the final minutes of the game loomed the win was snatched away as South Berks secured an equaliser.
With 3 games to play the position in the league is secure so the opportunity to demonstrate the full potential of the team remains with fixtures against 2 of the top 3 times in the next 2 weeks.
