04 March 2017, 11:30, Banbury Road North (Top)

Ladies' 5s 1 - 4 Reading Ladies 3A

This weekend we met Reading at home. Although we started strong Reading scored in the first 3 minutes. Hawks kept possession well with some good passing and strong drives up the pitch, but we unfortunately conceded a short corner. Reading scored a second goal but hawks came back strong. A great ball up the line from the FBs, Phil and Susan to Jane then to Lottie, who crossed into the D. Eleanor received and took a shot on goal and Lydia made a great deflection to score. We kept possession in their half and held the attack. Sherene took a great shot and was awarded a penalty flick. Pip came to take it but unfortunately didn't convert. The first half ended at 1-2 to Reading.

Hawks came back strong the second half with the majority of the possession. We had a few short corners but we not able to convert them to goals. Reading were awarded another short corner, which they converted to a goal. We had lots of opportunities in the D but could not get the ball into the goal. Reading scored another goal from a long corner after we tried to transfer. The game ended at 4-1 but we know the score line did not reflect the amount of possession hawks had. It was a frustrating game but we are ready to face Kidlington next week.

MOM was awarded to Lydia for her consistent hard work
