Ladies 2's secure a comfortable win against Epsom 1s

07 January 2017

Ladies' 2s 3 - 2 Epsom Ladies' 1s

With a disappointing first half of the season the ladies 2's were very eager to start the second half of the season with a win under their belts, especially against Epsom who are in the league above them.

Despite the festive break and inclement weather conditions hampering training the ladies 2's came out the blocks with great momentum and shortly after the whistle Becky Odlin found the back of the net.

The team continued to work hard to sustain the pace and penetrate their attacking circle with conviction but Epsom capitalised on our errors  and we were fortnate not to concede as Linda put in some outstanding saves! After a nerve wracking 5 minutes Hawks regained composure and worked the ball up the pitch and with some silky skills from  Emily Court this culminated in a tap in on the post from Emily Wilkins putting Hawks comfortably in the lead going into half time.

The second half started with similar gusto and desire to score and shortly after the whistle Emily Court forced through their defence and scored from what can only be described as an acute angle!! Hawks continued to work hard to maintain possession and played some promising hockey, particularly in attack but Epsom through some well-worked attacking plays did manage to break through our defence and score two goals leaving the final scoreline 3.2 to Hawks.

The Ladies 2s look forward to welcoming Wycombe 1s to BRN next Saturday for their 1st league of the 2nd half of the season.
