Straight back to our winning ways after the Christmas and New Year Break.  We had a huge side of 16 which meant everyone had a chance to play and to inject some fresh legs throughout the game.

We started off a little slow and rusty but Kat opened our scoresheet then our new player Hannah, returning to Hockey after 12 years, made her mark with the second and third goals so at half time we were 3-0 up.

After some wise words from Deborah at half time to open the play and use the width of the pitch with our inners and not to sit back and allow Bicester to get back into the game, we set off the second half with the good intentions.

However, Bicester gave us a good spell of sustained pressure that started to make us wobble, but a strong defence of Wendy, Deborah and Indya made sure Purdy didn’t see too much of the ball!

Strong attacking play from our halves and forwards, particularly from Jo and Mimi put the pressure back on Bicester and before we knew it, another goal from Hannah gave her first Ladies 7’s Hat Trick!  Alessia followed up with two goals of her own to make it a 6-0 victory to Hawks.

Jo Sears was our Player of the Match.

Mimi Rumsby was voted Player of the Match from the Opposition and won a bag of Skittles.

Many thanks to Alison Kilbride Swainston and Mel Page for managing the team.  With a squad of 16 we needed it!
