Ladies' 7s see off Iver and Burnham

Ladies' 7s 5 - 0 Iver and Burnham Ladies 1s
On a cold December afternoon, the Ladies' 7s took on Iver and Burnham. They immediately looked as if they meant business with a quick goal from Alessia Laird who made some excellent runs up the right wing throughout the match, working well with Mimi in attack. Clare Strickland also scored a superb goal and by half time we were 3 goals up and team morale was good.
The second half saw more short corners and Rachael proved herself to be a very effective injector with Jess converting one with an impressive hit from the edge of the D. A "Katy highlight" was driving into the D after doing some solid work up and down the pitch as a half and Wendy and Deborah were as rock solid as ever in defence......or so we thought! In the second half, we like to think that Cora needed something to do as their attack did occasionally break through but on one occasion Cora was forced to make a dramatic save, worthy of a penalty shoot-out, in a one-on-one situation. Towards the end the Ladies 7's showed some lovely team work with an especially impressive passing sequence between Mel and Rachael. A chilly but fun afternoon and the final score was 5-0.
