Hawks Men's 7ths get a lesson losing 8-1 on fantasy league launch

03 December 2016, 14:30, Banbury Road North (Top)

Men's 7s 1 - 8 Thame Men's 2s

Some times in team sport you have to put your hands up and acknowledge that the opposition were better on the day in all departments.

Starting slowly and under pressure from the first whistle Hawks found themselves chasing shadows as Thame 2nd fielded a strong side who were hungry for the ball.

At times Hawks were architects of their own problems as lost possession soon led to quick breaks and intense pressure on the Hawks D.

The score of 8-1 probably reflects the dominance of the opposition but equally the Hawks players battled throughout.

It was a bad day in the office with one highlight of a superb move involving Dan Johnson and OJ Webb, and when given the ball in the D, OJ Webb finished superbly for the on goal. With a tough fixture ahead next week at League leaders Newbury and Thatcham the team will need to increase intensity and team work.

OJ Webb picks up Man of The Match for the goal and all round persistence and perseverance.
