Draw with Wallingford for the Girls U16A Team

27 November 2016, 16:00, Wallingford HC

U16 Girls A 3 - 3 Wallingford U16 Girls

Hawks Girls u16A team made the familar trip to play Wallingford on Sunday, after playing them in a cup game the week before.

The wee ladies started very strongly and within 3 minutes were 1-0 up after man of the match, Siena Robbins had started at the half way line and went past many Wallingford players and with her normal composed ways, slotted the ball past the GK when she arrived in the D. Wallingford scored their 1st goal but Hawks immediately responded with Georgia Flynn scoring to make it 2-1 at half time.

Wallingford came out raring to go and scored their 2nd goal early on. But it was a very even 2nd half with both Hawks and Wallingford creating a lot of chances.Wallingford were then awarded a penalty flick which they calmly converted. However Hawks were awarded a penalty corner after some really good work from the Hawks forwards. The ball was slipped out to Siena and she hit the ball into the bottom left corner.

With the score at 3-3, both teams were playing really good competitive hockey and were looking for that final goal to clinch the win. Hawks were awarded a penalty corner with 2 minutes to go but unfortunately were unable to convert the chance. Really well played to all the team, it was another good performance with lots of good hockey from everyone.
