Ladies' 6s beat South Bucks soundly
19 November 2016, 15:30, Banbury Road North (Near)
Ladies' 6s 4 - 1 South Bucks Ladies 1s
A hard fought and occasionally bad tempered game saw Oxford Ladies 6 run out 4 – 1 winners against South Bucks. Both teams were evenly matched in the first half. Hawks scored first through a well worked short corner which Kate Kelly fabulously deflected in at the post, South Bucks cancelled this out quickly.
The second half was different in character. Fired up by their team talk South Bucks came out with a robust physical approach to which Hawks responded in the best way by scoring from open play. The match turned on a disallowed goal from a short corner from South Bucks after which they lost concentration and started to play the player not the ball. Hawks added another two goals from open play to dominate the rest of the half. Scorers: Kate Kelly x2 Sophie Dawes and Linda, MOM Kate Kelly.
