The Ladies 2s welcomed Milton Keynes Ladies 1s to BRN and were determined to continue their winning run. The 2s started really positively and created a number of chances, however they were unable to convert any of them early on in the game.  The 2s were awarded a penalty corner after some great skills and speedy ways from Hie Sawyer, however Kara Kerr lifted the ball on the straight strike so nothing came of that opportunity. There were many more attacking opportunities and Jessica Madden-Waite worked tirelessly to overlap and support the midfield and forwards, leading to another penalty corner opportunity which was saved by the MK GK. Finally after all the pressure and loads of good hockey from the 2s ladies, Hie used her speedy ways again to get round several MK defenders and played the ball towards the MK goal, where it came off a MK defender's foot and into the goal. 1-0 to Hawks which was well deserved after all the chances throughout the first half.

MK picked it up for the 2nd half and were immediately in Hawks D from the 1st whistle of the 2nd half. But Hawks back four and Linda worked hard to keep the score at 1-0. Man of the match, Emma Hunter was really composed as the left half and frequently had a number of MK players surrounding her trying to win the ball back. However this didnt' affect Emma and she managed to play the ball out of the danger area reapeatedly, as well as supporting the attacking play. Hawks managed to create a couple of chances but MK looked more dangerous and scored 2 goals in 3 minutes, making the final score 2-1. Hawks look forward to two good training sessions this week and next weekend's game against Witney Ladies 1s.
