The Hawks got off to a good start with a goal scored by Clare S when the Umpire played a good advantage. The first quarter was pretty even with Maidenhead, on occasion, breaking through.  Purdy was vigilant as ever, ensuring that the goals were not forthcoming. The backs were, however, strong with Annabelle distributing the ball left and right and Jan and Wendy stopping the ball from reaching the circle. There was an unlucky deflection from the right and Maidenhead had equalised. Georgia showed some nice individual skills to get around the opposition. Pip has a break away and her aggression in the circle earned Hawks another goal. Not to be out done Bella had a cracking shot on goal and also scored.  Maidenhead quickly regrouped and managed to break the Hawks strong defence by scoring to equalise. The halves Jess, Lara and Gail worked tirelessly and showed great skills in bringing the ball forward.  At half-time it was 3-2 to Hawks.

The second half got off to a great start with Alessia, Jo, Kate and Jade showing some aggression on the ball driving it forward. Clare E was strong on the wing driving the ball forward into the D where (“I never score”) Bella scored her second goal of the match. Hawks came away with a 4-2 win, a satisfying end to a hard fought match.

There is no photo of our presenting the chocolate to the opposition MoM.  Maidenhead did not stay for tea.  So we ate it!
